A. High Net-Worth Individual (HNWI) Engagement 
• Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with HNWIs aligned to EWT’s mission. 
• Develop and implement bespoke engagement strategies, including personalised 
communications, events, field visits, and legacy giving. 
• Maintain a confidential, up-to-date donor pipeline with a focus on major gifts. 
B. Offshore Fundraising (USA, UK, Europe, Middle East) 
• Secure funding from international philanthropic foundations in one or more of the 
locations, family offices, and expatriate networks. 
• Leverage intermediaries, fiscal sponsors, and donor-advised fund platforms. 
• Ensure all proposals and pitches align with international donor expectations and trends. 
C. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ESG-Aligned Partnerships 
• Develop and manage funding partnerships with South African corporates. 
• Co-create shared value programmes that deliver mutual impact. 
• Collaborate with the communications team to deliver donor-specific visibility, 
engagement, and reporting. 
D. Strategic Input and Coordination 
• Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy and income forecasting. 
• Work closely with programme, finance, and executive teams to craft compelling donor 
proposals. 
• Ensure timely stewardship, feedback, and reporting to build lasting donor trust. 
Required Qualifications and Experience  
Essential: 
• 7+ years’ experience in fundraising, donor relations, or business development with a focus 
on major gifts and international donors. 
• Proven success in securing six-figure+ gifts from HNWIs, corporates, or foundations. 
• Strong network of high-value donor contacts in South Africa and/or abroad. 
• Knowledge of international philanthropy trends and CSR practices in South Africa. 
• Excellent relationship management, communication, and proposal writing skills. 
• Experience with donor CRM/database systems. 
Desirable: 
• Existing donor portfolio in HNWI, corporate, or offshore development sectors. 
• Cross-cultural fluency and experience working in multi-disciplinary teams. 
• Passion for wildlife conservation and alignment with EWT’s mission. 
Deliverables and Performance Indicators 
• Demonstrable funds raised within the first 6–12 months. 
• Expansion of donor pipeline and improved retention rates. 
• Quality and timeliness of donor proposals and reports. 
• Measurable growth in corporate and international donor engagement. 
• Active contribution to EWT’s long-term income strategy.
